To this day, I cannot eat or even breathe in the scent of apple pie without discomfort. It all stems from one long day during my early teens. My mom had gotten it into her head to sell apple pies for the Christmas season. This was all well and good, until she got a request from a friend to make 30 apple pies for a party she was having. For close to two days, I woke up and breathed the tang of apples & cinnamon.. I sliced, diced, sprinkled, rolled out, plopped, and popped into the oven 30 apple pies. At the end of it, even my mom had to admit she was never going to do this again, hahaha! As for myself, that was the last time I ever made an apple pie.
