Sweet Shoppe Designs

The RAK aspect of this is only a small mention in the journalling, but it was huge for me. I was making this quilt very quickly for my son and got to the point where I needed to pin all the layers together. Alone, it would have taken me ages, but two friends were visiting that evening and they got down on hands and knees to help me out, meaning we got it all done before they went home. It was a huge thing for me.

Journalling~
Summer was a long time coming this year, but when it finally did, I suddenly realised that you didn't have anything suitable to sleep under in hot weather. That was the beginning of an obsessive undertaking to make you a quilt for your bed. I had a picture I'd ripped out of a patchwork catalogue years ago, that I used for the centre pattern and I had bought the Buzzy Bee fabric in case I had a use for it one day. I decided this was it. We went shopping together to buy the material for the other borders and you chose the car fabric yourself. You also picked the green dinosaur material for the backing. I got the top all sewn up in a week and then Sarah and Kat were wonderful friends and helped me pin the layers together. It took another week to quilt it - hard work in hot summer weather - and then it was all finished. I'm so glad you love it.
