Journaling: One of my main goals for 2012 is that I want to learn about Arduinos. They fascinate me with their unlimited possibilities. I want to build an Arduino that can open my vertical blinds. With a push of a remote or using a light sensor that would automatically open them for me in the mornings and close them at night. I will need to learn about arduinos: how to build them to do what I want, how to program them, and also how to use a 3D printer to design the gears and print the parts to create this device..
My ambitious project will be to create an arduino that will talk with my smart phone. I want to be able to pull up an app on my smart phone to see if my garage door is up and close it from the phone!
I joined the CCCKC Hackerspace in July of 2011. I am hoping to take classes from them and start experimenting on my own. I am so fortunate to have met the wonderful people of CCCKC. They inspire and encourage me. They are willing to share their knowledge with others. I feel that my dream to learn about Arduinos will become a reality in 2012 ... thanks to those at CCCKC.
