My DD Giulia beginning to celebrate the Carnaval (Carnival) 2008.
Carnaval is the Mardi Gras here in Brazil - the world's largest carnival celebration - but many countries worldwide have large, popular celebrations, such as Carnival of Venice or Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
Our festivities begins three days before Ash Wednesday and marks the beginning of Lent.
But, in fact, we start to celebrate right after new years eve... *lol*
So, here we say: the new year really begins only after the Ash Wednesday *lol*
