There I was, 6:00 am lying in a hospital bed waiting to be induced. You were inside me not quite ready to come out, yet at 39 weeks you were strong enough to give it a try. There I was hooked up to machines, with needles stuck in me everywhere just waiting. I wondered what the pain would be like and then it started. There I was feeling contractions and watching the monitors waiting for it start every few minutes. It’s time for the epidural now. There I was waiting for the anethesiologist to come in and make it all better. Ahh...the pain subsided. There I was taking a nap. How long does this take? 5 cm, 6 cm, 7 cm, 8 cm, oh good! I’m at 9cm! Uh-Oh! There I was being wheeled into surgery because you were in the breech position. I was numb and worried and a little relieved that it was almost over. There I was hearing your scream and knowing everything would be ok. You were tiny and rosy and perfect in every way. There I was wondering why the doctors never checked to see what position you were in before putting me through 11 hours in that bed. |

Love how you did the title and the elements along the side, great journaling. I'm surprised too that the baby's position wasn't checked first.
