it's been almost 15 years now and i thought that with time, it would get easier. the truth of the matter is, the older i get, the harder it is. there are so many things that i wish i could share with you. i hate that my girls never got to meet you or grow up with you as such a major part of their lives, like you were in mine. every childhood memory i have, you are a part of and that is most definitely not a coincidence. there are many things that remind me of you, but the one that never fails to turn me into a blubbering mess is when i hear Ave Maria. i honestly think that that is one of the main reasons i have such a hard time with going to church now. going to church with you and grandma every week was just part of our weekend agenda. i'm so happy that i got to spend those formidable years with such a positive influence in my life, but to this day, i still hate that i couldn't be with you more at the end. i hope you know how much you have influenced and formed the person i am today and how grateful i am that i had you for as long as i did. the day you died, a part of me died as well
