Journaling: It’s a joy watching you both grow up. This age is so special because you truly believe that you can be and do anything. Super heroes really do exist for you. When you grow up , you believe that you could be Spiderman. And even though I’m enjoying watching you grow, I dread the day that this innocence is taken away from you. I hope that your dad and I still instill in you a self-confidence that you can accomplish anything that you put your mind to, even if being Superman is unrealistic. We always hope that you both shoot for the stars in whatever you set out to accomplish. We want you to be the best that you can be in everything that you do, but above all, we want you to be happy in life. There are bound to be dissapointments in life, whether it’s not coming in first or losing someone that you love, but we want you to always know that we are proud of you when you do your best even if that means that you don’t make first place, and that we’ll always be here for you, whether that’s physically coming alongside of you to hug you or being in your heart as a reminder that we love you so much no matter what happens. The challenges of raising children today are many, and I’m sure that there will be times when we don’t always meet the mark either.
