The journalling reads: My great grandfather, Walter Cartledge, was an able seaman. Got these photos of the ships he worked on from ancestry.com. Such a great site,Maybe this photo was taken on one of these ships? I still have not found any information on his 'other' family in New Zealand. Perhaps I never will, & the identity of this lady & litle girl will remain a mystery . .
