For the April 9th Cookie Decorating challenge. I've been on a 2-page kick lately, so I adapted this one for 2 pages and more photos.
Journaling: A friend had recommended we take a buggy ride [on our vacation in Lancaster], so we gave it a try. Turned out to be a lot of fun, and we learned a lot about the Amish from our Amish driver. The backroads we were on were also our closest experience with the 'real' Amish. We saw older kids driving their younger siblings in
wagons, a mother pushing a Graco stroller, and men teasing each other about how fast they could drive. Between that and learning that the Amish people love shopping at Walmart (no joke!) and the kids love rollerblading, we came away from this trip with a very different view of the Amish than we started with. All that went over your 3-year old head, of course, but you loved that you held the reins and drove for most of our buggy ride! (Pay no attention to the Daddy behind you also holding the reins--it was all you, little guy!)
