Finally, three years later, I've started my son's birth album. Thanks Teresa for this template, which was just the kick I needed to do it. This became a double page LO to get in everything I wanted to go together.
Journalling~
(Email from Dave to friends and family : Thursday, 27th Jan 2004)
At around 3am this morning, Kerry went into premature labor. By 5am things had progressed more and we were on our way to North Shore Hospital. They gave her some drugs to stop/slow the contractions and then transferred us to National Women's, where she currently resides.
The baby was not born, and is still happily using Kerry's tummy as a punching bag. The drugs she is taking seem to be working and the contractions have pretty much stopped.
We've spoken to lots of people, and the prognosis is pretty good. The longer he stays inside, the better things will be, but because he's 27 weeks along now, he's got very good chances. I expect we'll know more tomorrow and in the days to come, but it could take anywhere from 2 days to 13 weeks before things happen. There is just no way of telling at this point.
Kerry is currently sleeping so I've taken the chance to come home to get some things she will need. Because she's up in the wards, I'll only be with her for a couple of hours each day; especially considering there is little more I can do than be there with her.
I'll download her email onto this laptop each day so she will be able to read it, but she won't have internet access. I'm going to talk to vodaphone about renting a cheap cellphone so we can both have one.
More to follow as we know...
Dave
