My baby moved out of the crib and into a big girl bed... I'm feeling a little sentimental!

Journaling:
It is with sincere regret that I must inform you that your employment at our home will be terminated as of Saturday March 31, 2007.

As you know, the Family Growth Task Force delivered their report to our managers in late February 2007. Among the task force recommendations was the elimination of all newborn and infant equipment. Since you occupy one of these posts, your position is automatically subject to the task force recommendations.

I would like to make it absolutely clear that in no way does your termination reflect that the company is in any way unhappy with your work performance over the past seven years. In fact, you have been highly regarded as one of our most valuable slumber time assets. The graceful curves of your sleigh design served as a centerpiece in the often visited nursery of our establishment. You supplied the family with many hours of restful sleep and never fell down on the job, even when young and nimble staffers attempted to breech the confines of your honey pine siderails. Unfortunately, you and the other non-permanent staff that are being let go are simply a reflection of the growth and maturation of the youngest family member over the past year.

In an effort to try to reduce the impact of this termination, the company has worked out an arrangement that we hope will give you at least several more years of employment with a sister company. Given your qualifications and proven abilities, I am confident that you will be able to find another position in the relatively near future. If you would like, I would be pleased to write a recommendation letter for you, to help with your job search.

Sincerely,

Sandra Stanton
Family Manager
