For some, it is a mere convenience, but for me it's a way of life. Seriously, I really do love my DVR. It makes sure that I can watch all of my favorite shows when I have the time (which isn't often) and it keeps me focused and entertained while I run on the treadmill which is about the only time I have the TV on. It is definitely my most favorite piece of technology.
