Hugs to you! Gorgeous photo-less page, but I'm sorry you're experiencing some self-doubts. I went through a phase like this when I was convinced I was a terrible friend because of a few situations I'd been in. I think you need to be who you are, but you can always learn from past mistakes and work on things you want to change. The people who love you are going to love you, no matter what. I LIKE people who are blunt and to-the-point, because I trust them to be honest.

I'm totally seeing you a new light and I'm sorry you feel like you need to filter yourself when you are around people because you come across as gruff or mean. I actually like those kind of people because you know what they are thinking/saying, instead of sugarcoating it for fear of hurting someone's feelings. I understand being the teacher and honing it back a little, but I think your students know you as a teacher and person to know that you aren't being harsh, mean or rude to them. Who knows, they might appreciate you treating them like an equal rather than a little child!! I say all of this to say that while you think you feel like you need to hone it back, you probably are just overthinking it and you are perfect the way that you are!!

Beautiful page, and such heartfelt, vulnerable journaling. What a tremendous gift you've given your family by adding this to your albums. Someday, your kids will read this and look back and think, "Yeah, Mom had the same doubts I have every day," and they'll feel connected to you in a moment when they need it the most.

I love that you used scrapbooking as therapy. Your words are powerful, because you reveal your heart in them. If you were really mean and hurtful, you wouldn't be worried about what you've said. I think your students likely appreciate being treated as an equal/adult. As for your children, this sounds like a great conversation to have with them. I would love knowing what my mom thought about herself when I was still at home with her! I love the soft colors on this page - and that's what you should be - softer and gentler with yourself. You're pretty awesome.
