Of all the toys Vanessa possesses, her favorite toy at the moment is my set of metal measuring spoons. Some combination of the texture, sound, and variety of sizes makes them irresistible to her. She squeals with delight when she sees them and carefully inspects each spoon in the set to see whether it will fit into her mouth. Her left foot thumps on the floor in excitement and she rolls from side to side, rattling them as loudly as she possibly can.
