Your first time in preschool was so affirming to me and you. From the very first day that we visited and met your teacher, Mrs. Christy, to the last day a few months later you were so completely happy. You loved playing with all of your new friends and your class was just like home away from home. You have always had a fabulous imagination and Mrs. Christy & Mrs. Nancy understood that and helped you develop that even more in your playtime there. We were so blessed to have such a wonderful and caring classroom for you in this first experience with school. You learned that despite your challenges you can do so much, and I learned that I had to let you have those opportunities to discover that. I won’t pretend it was easy to drop you off there twice a week for those few hours, but seeing you hug your new friends goodbye in the afternoons and then speed towards me made it very worthwhile. And as scary as it was to let you go that first time, it has hopefully prepared me for many more new ventures in your independence.
