My delivery story (first layout of two)
To make a long story short:
My baby was born on Tuesday March 15th. He made his arrival on earth a wild adventure.
I had to go to the hospital on Monday March 14th. They had to induce my labor because of the medicine (syringes) I had to give myself on a daily bases. The doctors didn't want to let me go over his due date.
The plan was to induce my labor on Monday evening and give birth on Tuesday.
Everything went well until Tuesday around noon.
It all went too slow. And they wanted to give me epidural. But it turns out I have a bad back and my vertebrae (I hope that is a work, because I had to use google translate) are to close together to put the needle in. They had to try 4 times to get it right.
The epidural made my baby troubled and restless and he didn't respond well. The epidural also made my contractions stop. They gave me medicine to start the contractions again. And they tried to calm down my baby. But nothing worked. And it would take at least 8 hours until he would be born. So they decided it was best that he was born with an emergency c-section.
They rushed me to the operation room.
But when they moved me from one bed to the other bed, the epidural got loose.
So when they were about to start the c-section, they couldn't etherize me. They tried several times and gave me the highest dose possible, I could still feel everything.
After 20 minutes, they ran out of time and they decided to put me under full anesthesia to get my baby.
So I missed the actual birth of my baby.
He is healthy and doing great, but not being there the moment he was born, is emotionally and mentally really hard.
But I feel so blessed he made it.

oh Sarah!!!!!! The page is amazing , as you always do, but so painful that you had to go through this all!!!!! I think for some of us in this wqorlkdm everything we achieve is through a fight, a battle that we need to get through.... so so sorry you had to go through this all.....!!!! Still, I have to re-asure you: you wouldn't;t have seen or feel that much if you were on an epidural, I had a planned C section because of my hips congenital issues, and I can tell you, all you see is a huge screen covered by a piece of fabric, and because (when the epidural works you are also on some muscle relaxers and that creates a bit of a dreamy, nebulous state.... I only remember Andy grabbing Sarita (he was with me the whole time) and them putting her in my chest for like 2 seconds before they did all the checks and took her out to my mum ..... I stilll have a blurred memory of when they said if it was a girl or a boy, so, trust me, do not feel too bad for that..... I am so so happy for you, my friend!!!!!!! looking forward to keep seeing your awesome pages and getting to know Finn as we go!!!!!!! super huge huggzzz and Congrats!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! I knew you had not been around for a bit but I didn't realize it was that time already. It went by fast! So glad he is doing well. Can't wait to see the pages with him. Love this one also!

Van harte gefeliciteerd met de geboorte van jullie zoon. Fijn dat alles zo voorspoedig is verlopen, leuke naam ook!

I'm so glad that you and baby Finn came out of the whole birthing experience with a happy ending and that he and you are doing well. Your page is beautiful. I love the background paper and all the themed elements that you incorporated into your page. Beautifully done!

Such an ordeal, but the important thing is that you're both healthy now! I love this beautiful page... you've done such an amazing job accessorizing with the themed elements all tucked in around your journaling.

What a creative way to showcase your birth story! I'm sorry it didn't go as planned, but glad everything turned out well in the end! Big hugs!

Beautiful page and story. I had the same thing happen with my first. They knocked me out as well. I am sorry you missed that sweet moment but thankful you both are okay and doing well. Love the layout and the medical elements around. He is a blessing

Oh no Sarah, what an ordeal for the birth of your baby. But so glad you have your little boy with you. You documented his birth story beautifully here. Great page!

Such an ordeal for sure, but what a beautiful outcome. You were definitely there for him during his delivery, just in a different way than you imagined. The most important thing is that you are both healthy and happy and I hope you are enjoying every single moment with your beautiful, sweet Finn!
