Finn is a bad sleeper. He was a good sleeper the first few weeks, but then it changed. He likes to sleep on my lap, in my arms, in my bed,
but he hates sleeping in his own bed. We tried a lot of things, but from the moment we lay him down, he starts crying.
We tried waiting for him to fall asleep in our arms and then put him in his bed, didn't work. We have a night light, a stuffed animal that makes calming noise... that seems to help a little, but not every time.
We tried tucking him in tied. We tried swaddling him, but he hates that. We tried talking to him until he is sleeping. We tried a pacifier.
It's so sad.

Beautiful page for a not-so-great subject matter. I love how you balanced the cards with your gorgeous clusters. You always have such a knack for adding in the perfect little extras, like the stars off to the side and below.

My Sarah was a bad sleeper at first too. I spent her first two months sleeping propped up in bed with her laying on my chest. I had pillows jammed down both sides of me so I couldn't turn over and hubby had to sleep on the couch. It was the only way she'd sleep, but it worked and it sure beat pacing the floor all night with her in my arms!!! LOL

Thank you so much Natasha!
That is what I do as well. He sleeps next to me in bed with pillows for safety. Ward sleeps on the couch as well. It works most of the time.

Oh no! Poor you and Ward and poor Finn! My guys went through a similar stage as Finn and we had a lot of trouble figuring out something that worked. I'm glad you figured out what to do, but poor Ward on the couch! Love the bold colour combo with the black and pink. Great page for a not-so-great subject!

Yeah, sleeping is every parents nemesis!! I know it's not everyone's gig, but we found co-sleeping to work very well for us. Some times I would transfer my kids to their cribs after they were asleep, but it kept us sane! Anyway, love the dark background and your amazing clusters!

Thank you so much for sharing your stories ladies. We now have a stuffed animal that makes calming noises like the rain and a heartbeat. That seems to help a little as well. But not all the time.

Oh, that is hard! It is wonderful that he feels so safe and cozy with you....BUT Mama needs her rest too!!! I put a T-shirt that I had worn a couple days in with the swaddling blankets which helped them stay asleep on their own after I fed and rocked my kids. They did grow out of that phase pretty quickly - thankfully! Maybe if he can smell you near he will sleep easier. =) Gorgeous clustering as always!!

Kelsey's tip is what helped me too. I love that you documented the struggle - it will pass, but your memory of it is preserved perfectly Gorgeous as always!!

Oh boy, I can relate! My youngest didn't sleep for about 18 months! Pretty rough when you're trying to work and do everything else in life. Good luck and great page!

Beautiful page for a tough time. Praying you get through this bump with sweet Finn. The mommy shirt helped my guy at 2 to stay in his bed

Ah my sweet friend! I'm really sorry for that! Finn is clever, sleeping with mom and dad is better than alone!
Kidding about it but know it's not funny for you all! We had this kind of stuffed toy (it was a turtle here's lol that make relaxing sounds). Twins slept the first month in a cocoonababy because they were so tiny it really help them. They used to sleep with me because it was easier with the bottles in the night but after they went in their own bed in the same room, sometimes it was ok sometimes not. Later 9 month they used to play together and "chatting" their way and didn't sleep either.:/ (and throwing all the toys they can on the floor!)
The thing is they never manage to sleep alone since I'm not in my bed even if I'm not in the same bedroom. Even now, they can wait until more than midnight if I'm watching tv for example... I can't explain this to people because they probably think we are crazy but I truly think it's because they stay alone in NICU the 1st month of their life the night so there's a logic to me even if I'm not really happy with this!
They also need a white sound like a fan to sleep.
I think it's going to get better but it's not easy to be quiet when you don't sleep! Totally understand!

Oh and forget about the stuff that do soft lights in the room! They still have it now since it's light garland but keep one from their baby time they use to go to the loo in the night.
