Journaling:
To this day, the craziness that was/still is your behavior is often fodder for conversation. Yes, you are the butt of jokes for your former magazine staff. When we put up Travelife it was a promising project. However, by the time I left, it was only a joke of what we had wanted it to be. And while I can pinpoint my share of the blame, what ultimately made me leave your employ was your utter idiocy & inflexibility. Your unwillingness to “play the game” as expected in our industry. Your jealousy over your editor- in-chief (because everyone listened to her & not you). For me, the breaking point came when you insisted us editors start charging for press release space in the magazine, claiming my previous publication does it too. Uuuh, I think not. Well, I don’t know if you ever learned your lesson. I did hear that after your editorial staff left, you lost two major advertisers because of your inability to negotiate properly with them.

For a very long time, I second-guessed myself & my decision to leave. Without my salary--small as it was--money was & continues to be tight for us. But you taught me to truly look for successful people to emulate, in and outside of our industry. You taught me to trust my own judgement. My leaving was my metaphorical first step towards trying new things, which included my present work today. It’s been three years since I left, and I am now earning as much as three times the amount I used to in a month compared to when I was working for you. I have more free time to pursue my interests, & most importantly, I have more time for my husband and my family. So for that, thank you.

I bet this was very good for you to write out and get off your chest! Awesome page.

And for some reason, this kit was overlooked by me. It's going on my wish list now.
