Sean always likes to pretend that he’s driving to work or to the store. And, lately, he’s been asking me to be a part of his story. He usually gives me very specific instructions about what to say and what to do. Here’s what our conversation was today.
S: Mom, I’m coming home from work and i’m late cause I was in a crash, so when I come up the driveway, ask me what took me so long.
Then he brings the car up the driveway.
L: What took you so long?
S: I was on my way home from work and I got in a crash.
L: Oh no! Are you okay?
S: Yeah, I’m okay. A red car just drove up and hit me.
L: Well, I’m glad you’re okay.
Sean proceeds to pretend to fill up his car with gas.
S. Well, I just had to put gas in the car because it ran out when I got in the crash.
L: Oh, okay. Well, I’m glad you have everything taken care of.
