I did a chore chart for my girls. They share this chart, and choose what they do - aiming to collect 20 tokens in a week. Once they've done a chore, they pull off the token (held on with velcro) and pop it into their bag which is hanging underneath. (I've told them that although there are only a few tokens for making bed, they will still have to make their bed every day). If they need extra credit they can do an act of service to earn tokens (weeding garden, helping in the kitchen etc). At the end of the week they tally up their tokens and collect pocket money.
They started using the chore chart this morning, and you would not believe how excited they are to collect a token. Brooke was fair tripping over herself to do an act of service for Elisa so she could get another token. She packed Elisa's school bag, filled up her drink bottle, collected and packed her homework and lunch etc. When Elisa found out she gave Brooke a great big hug and a kiss. We are feelin' the love here this morning! And they're ready for school a whole 30 minutes earlier than usual. I could get used to this.
