January Challenge # 41 Pieced Background

Journaling sums it up:

If I had to use one word to describe myself it would be strong. I lost my husband at 24 and went on to raise our son on my own. I helped nurse my father though a terminal illness and held his hand as he died. I live with cancer every day, but I don't let it stop me from doing what needs done. I've always been as strong as I needed to be to get through the next crisis. Unfortunately, I am always waiting for that crisis, sure it is just around the bend. Being strong has gotten me though a lot for which I am grateful, but I wish I knew how to combine my strength with some softness. I wish I laughed more and worried less. I wish I trusted others enough to ask for help when I need it. I wish I didn't feel like strong is the only word that describes me.
