She Loves Novelas, especially Turkish ones, but novels in general (soap operas)
She loves ice cream but always asks for the same flavours : Strawberry and pineapple.
We communicated for a few years through snail mail, letters written by hand and taken to the post office, I lived in different cities for many years and internet or cell phones were something out of the Jetsons then.
She makes the most amazing cakes, our birthdays with my brother were the most amazing, mine once was a rabbit, she also made my wedding cake, was brilliant.
Learned to use a computer cell phone (even though she still struggles with that one) in her 70s and loves Facebook.
Loves pizza and loves wine, but rarely ever drinks. Loves going shopping with us, with Sarita especially.
She turned 88 in May. Has 4 grandchildren, plus a bunch of inherited ones from her sisters, my cousins' children and by now she even has a few great grand kids as the kids of those kids also have her as grandma.
She has high blood pressure (has had for many, many years) but still loves a full on pizza,
SHE IS THE WOMAN I MOST ADMIRE IN THE WORLD (and love, of course) here is just one of the reasons :
In her 50s she had to start earning money, so she started cooking for others, mainly kibble, lahmayin (esfihas) and baklava and other Middle Eastern sweets, humus and other Sefaradi Syrian food by order. Started alone in her very tiny kitchen, but grew into a wonderful business with some amazing ladies whom she trained, she was supporting her family financially with her cooking and wonderful organisational skills, she was catering for weddings and events in general with 100 plus people. This turned her into the pioneer in the country of cooking and selling this kind of food. She is a totally real Kitchen Queen! She also will feed you no stop, in her mind, there is something wrong with you if you don't eat!!! LOL
