Love this as a challenge idea.
I decided to recreate my very first layout posted here. Honestly, so much has been learned in a year! I did not understand shadows or that it's ok to remove parts of a template and frankly, it's just a bit busy!

I don't think your original one is too busy at all but I do like this new layout a lot!!! I love that row of books, too! I can't believe you've only been scrapping for a year! SO much awesomeness in your gallery!
