I was born paralysed, didn't walk till age 5, had 9 operations from birth to 8 years old, was told at 16 that there was an operation then in experimental phase but, they assured me, it would be routine by the time I needed it. And it was, indeed. What they couldn't predict was that, even being at the most advanced teaching hospital in England, they would turn the operation that was meant to bring me back to work and a full on life, into a complete fail, including the 4 operations trying to fix the initial error, and this would be the end of any life I knew..... Like with every thing, I have found my silver linings, so, despite of the many (very) visible and invisible conditions, I'm happy enough to keep going for my family and specially my daughter, but sometimes (including seeing Tracey megafabulous creation that made me want to start a book on it) talking about it is part of the healing therapy. More pages to come.
