This is a layout about my grandfather (dzaidek), growing up he was kept out of our lives by his 2nd wife. He was the first in a slew of relatives that I never got to say goodbye to, he passed away when I was a few months pregnant with Connor. Not having him in my life growing up pains me till this day. I have made such a point in making sure Connor is around my parents as much as possible because of what I was lacking growing up- even when I'm not liking them so much lol.

reads:
One day, I hope to understand what great
wrong I must have committed to deprive me
of having my dzaidek in my life growing up.
This picture represents one of the only memories
I have of you. It was the one and only time
you came up to visit us. I remember so clearly
walking down the street holding your hand,
kicking up the leaves that covered the sidewalks.
You passed away nearly four years ago. I loved
you with everything in my soul. I know that
you loved me too, and if you could have, you would
have been by my side watching me grow up to
become the woman I am today. Growing up I couldn’t
understand why you weren’t in my life. As an adult
all is becoming clear, but it doesn’t ease my pain.
The more I understand, the deeper the agony seeps.
What Was ripped away from me in having you in my
Life, will never be regained.

This is amazing. What a sad thing to scrap, but it's very neat that the whole experience has made you that much more aware of how precious grandparents are.

Life surely puts us through some rough bumps, but the wonderful thing about scrapping is that we can journal our feelings beautifully. This is indeed a beautiful, moving page!

What a beautiful page and touching journaling. In my life, it was my biological father who was kept out of my life by his 2nd wife...so I understand a lot of where you're coming from. {{{hugs}}}

This is so moving Lauren... family dynamics can really suck, and so often it's the innocent ones who get hurt... Very touching
