Journaling: When the final Harry Potter book was set to hit the stores, I wanted to go to Borders and join in the festivities. My mom didn’t want me to go by myself so she agreed to go with me. So at 10pm we headed over to Borders. We had NO IDEA what we were in store for! There were HUNDREDS of people hanging out, there were people dressed up as characters from the books and there were even different contests with prized going on in the store. It was so hectic! Then at midnight, they turned off all the lights in the store and paraded the “first” book through the store by candlelight. The poor Borders employee who sold the first book was so excited I thought she might actually have a heart attack! I didn’t get MY actual book until almost 2am, came home and read the first 5 chapters. The whole thing was pretty crazy
and my mom thought I was insane!
