I can't believe I have made it this far!!!!

11.19: Went to a resume writing class today and learned LOTS! So hopefully it will pay off in the next couple of months before I retire! So we are dog sitting for the weekend! A Boxer named Apollo! We picked him up after work and when we got Abby and Peyton, Abby was so excited! She talked ALL The way home! Then we started to walk through the front door with him, Ben said “You got a REAL DOG!!!!”…then we had to tell him we were just watching him for the weekend! Abby wants him to sleep with her and everything! He didn’t bark at all!
11.20: Well, Apollo woke me up at 315 am to go pee, but then he went back to sleep until the kids got up around 745 am! Abby has been trying to ride him like a horse all day!
11.21: woke up at 0700 this morning to a few snow flurries on the ground! It wasn’t much, but it sure was coooolllllllddddd outside this morning! Abby woke up and said “"Mom, you aren't gonna BELIEVE what's on the ground outside!!!"Lisa came and picked Apollo up and I am not sure Abby was happy to see him go. But he was a great dog and very well behaved. Abby, Ben and Peyton were coloring at the table and this conversation occurred: Ben to Abby: "Can you find a black marker?" Abby: "A black marker?" Ben: "Yes" Abby: "What color is it?"
11.22: So it took like 30 mins for the car to warm up because it was sooo cold outside. Matt stayed home because he had a dr’s appt. SO around 30-9 am it started snowing on base…and it NEVER let up. So around 10 I asked could I leave because I wanted to make sure I got off of the island and over the bridge {Deception Pass}….so off I go at 10 am…took me almost an hour to get off base because they didn’t have the gates plowed!!! DUH!!! So I picked Sam up and then we couldn’t go down Crescent Harbor Road because there were like 20 cars in the ditches!!! So we FINALLY get them picked up and start heading out towards the bridge!!! Well, we didn’t get far and got caught in stop and go traffic and then COMPLETE STOP traffic! We FINALLY made it up to a little store by the bridge around 2 pm and I ran in and got the kids some chips and snacks since we had NO IDEA when the bridge was gonna open. Word was there were a couple of accidents on both sides they were trying to clear and they were trying to deice the bridge! We FINALLY got moving around 345 pm!!!! And it was touch and go bumper to bumper 5 mph all the way to the Anacortes {about 10 miles} stoplight!. The rest of the drive was OK until we got INTO MT Vernon and the side roads were kinda slick! We FINALLY made it home around 52 pm and this was my FB post “Dear Oak Harbor...you can KEEP your DAMN SNOW!!!!! I left work at 10 am and arrived home at 525 pm with 3 very IRRITATED kids {along with one TIRED ASS momma} kids and when we go to get out, Abby and Peyton's doors are FROZEN shut because we have been in the snow ALL DAY LONG!!!!” and that is how my day went!!! I think Sam may be MORE worn out from riding in the car than me! SO NOW I am having a beer!!!!! The base is on a 2 hour delay tomorrow but Matt and I are NOT taking our chances on driving in this mess again!!!! Plus it is not suppose to get over 27 degrees tomorrow!
11.23: Abby and Peyton went out and played in the snow a little bit, but Peyton didn’t stay long since we could not convince either of them to put their gloves on. Abby on the other hand would have probably stayed out there all day!!! She made a couple of snow angels and then just wanted to play in it. When it got too cold for us to be out there we made her come in! Sam doesn’t have school, but Ben’s school is open! Thinking about just letting him miss tomorrow and hang at home with Sam! Ben is only supposed to be in school half a day anyway! {packed and ready for Oregon!
This is what it says on the Komo 4 website: A Few Clouds Humidity : 45 % Pressure : 30.15 in Puget Sound Weather Outlook Updated Tuesday 3:55 p.m. Brrrrrrrrr! Yes, it's a 9-'r' Brrrrr! The area's frigid temperatures are rivaling the great cold snap over Thanksgiving weekend in 1985. Highs today have been in the mid 20s and lows tonight are dropping to eye-popping levels.
Seattle's preliminary high was 25 degrees and the 49-degree swing between that and the record 74 degrees we had on Nov. 3 has smashed the record for largest range of high temperatures in the month of November -- and the second closest that I found was 39 degree spread in 1955 (21 low, 60 high).
Saturday will see some scattered rain showers with highs still in the 40s. Sunday actually looks dry and what we'll pass for pleasant with highs in the low-mid 40s.
Long range models look like we can temporarily retire #snomg and go more with regular Seattle weather. The pattern will remain relatively cool, but not *that* cool with temperatures in the low 40s for rain, but snow levels well below the passes
Maybe just enough for a 3-'r' Brrr!

11.24: left for Oregon at 325 pm…the weather wasn’t too bad and we made it all the way to Tacoma without any bad traffic…but after Tacoma it was CRAZY traffic all the way to Portland ~got to Portland around 945 pm and it was a LONNNGGG trip!
11.25: Had Thanksgiving with the whole family and it was GREAT! The kids had fun playing together and the food was FABULOUS, as always! Sam, Lauren and I made a plan to go out at 10 pm and hit Toys R Us when they opened and do a little early Black Friday shopping…so me and the girls sat around and discussed where we would go and what we needed to get {so we worked on our shopping lists!}….Lauren picked me up and in a nutshell it was CRAZY!!!! The people at Toys R Us were wrapped all the way around the parking lot!!!! INSANE! So we just went back home! Well, I decided to pretty much take a nap and went back out at 330 am!
