Journaling read:

When I asked mom to email me about the day I was born, she wrote, “I really after all these years can remember the feeling of that special day. You were pink and precious. Gorgeous! I remember very near to before you were born thinking I would have no more kids. (No more pain for me.) The second you came to us, I knew there would be more. You were a great blessing to our home from the moment of your arrival. You brought a wonderful spirit into our home, that you carry with you still today. You are sharing it with your family now and I appreciate all you do for them and me too.

Nana, grandpa, and Michelle were at the hospital when you were born. Grandma Meyer was there before I left the hospital. They helped us home. We got so many flowers, it was good we had three caars there to carry them all home. We took you home in dad's Falcon. You loved it instantly. You had been a little fussy from all the getting ready to leave the hospital, and when we turned on dad's rumbly, noisy Falcon, you went right to sleep. No car seat. Omigosh! I held you. It was a sweet ride home with you in my arms. I'd be in jail now Lol but there were no laws about such things then. Grateful for the safe journey as I think about it now.”

She found this entry that she had written in a journal for me about that day, “Finally at around 1:00 am I felt a little cramp, but was too tired to worry and went back to sleep. Then at 2:00am I woke up Kelly. We started timing them and they were 3--5 minutes apart for the next hour. Kelly called the doctor and he said go to the hospital." So we got stuff together and got on our way. Kelly was calm. Only one little mistake, he stopped for a green light!

When I first got in the labor room, there was a lady in the adjoining room who was screaming bloody murder. Scared me to death! Here I am with my first baby, not knowing what to expect and a little scared anyway, and this lady is scaring me to death. It wasn't even that bad, but at times I did want to scream like she did.

Finally the time came. They wheeled me in the delivery room and minutes later she was born. It was the most special and warm feeling I've ever felt. It was a girl. That's what I wanted so I was elated! Kelly was too.l She was BEAUTIFUL! (and I'm not prejudice! Ha!) Oh, there's no way to explain the way I felt. She was so pretty! Kelly and I just stared and fought the tears. I gaver her to Kelly and he took her to the nursery. They brought her in every 4 hours for feeding. She was so pink and pretty. What a doll! I nursed her and from the very beginning she went for it. When she was born, she was licking her lips and when I nursed her, I never had one problem.”
