This is my FIL who has been battling stage 4 of a rare cancer for 6 years now. It paralyzed him and shook his life up pretty good. He lived in a wheel chair, with everyone doing everything for him for a long time. They said he'd never walk again and that he wouldn't live long at all, just a few months. Twice he came close, so close that I put my husband on a plane and packed his Marine Corps dress blues uniform for 'the funeral' and got him there immediately. But FIL is a fighter and is not giving up - so much so that here we are 6 years later, he's alive (still battling the cancer off and on) but he's now WALKING again, even DRIVING, feeding himself, dressing himself, etc.... It all just amazes me!
