These 6 kids are really “miracle” babies! On June 8, 2008, we had a combined birthday party for all of them! They all turned 3 years old within 5 weeks of each other. What makes them so special? They are all NICU survivors! Myself, Alissa, Rhonda and Michelle (the moms) all met while our baby(ies) were in the NICU! What a stressful time and to be able to come out of it with great friends and a great support system was awesome. Lainey was the first born of the group. She was born at just 27 weeks gestation. Her mom, Michelle, was unable to have children due to not producing any eggs. Lainey is the result of IVF using donor eggs from her mom’s sister! Evy and Henry were the next two born. They are twins! They were born at 29 weeks when Alissa’s water broke after a problem-free pregnancy. This set of twins was the result of the drug called Clomid after Alissa had trouble getting pregnant. Next born was Max. He was born at 30 weeks due to pre-term labor. He was also conceived using IVF. The last two to be born in the group were my daughters, Morgan and Reagan. They were born at 34 weeks after I had spent 7 weeks on bedrest for pre-term labor. My twins were conceived spontaneously. We are all so very blessed in our lives. We can’t believe how far they have all come. We are looking forward to this little party every year and we hope the kids can all grow up together and understand just how special they each are. We are 4 VERY lucky mommies!!!
