Treasured Trinkets

I love all of my little dust collecting treasures so I thought it was worth stating why they are special and the memories that are tied to them forever. Since its a Sugar free challenge I snapped them just as they were - complete with dust and unpolished! Just keeping it real!! When I looked through my Mums treasures I found that I really wanted to know the stories behind them but will never get that chance! Aint that what scrappings about? My DDs will never have to wonder why these items graced my dressing table even though they were seemingly insignificant! If you wish to read the journalling here it is:

Each of these trinkets has its own story. It would be very difficult to part with them because of the memories each one represents. My crystal
mouse was a thank you gift from my younger sister for being her bridesmaid. She knew how much I loved the crystal figurines when she chose it and it will always remind me of our special relationship. My birthstone heart bear was a precious gift from my daughters. I think the fact that it is not my actual birthstone reminds me of their innocent and pure their love is. Every gift given from the heart is immeasurable and I couldnt ask for a more special gift. The small red china vase was a parting gift from a lady that supervised me in my first full-time job. She had no family of her own except one sister and as she was retiring and moving to a smaller house she wanted to find special homes for her trinkets. This one was a gift from her mother and I was incredibly touched that she felt I was worthy of such a gift. I still remember her after nearly 30 years and her gift stands as a constant reminder that wherever we go we have the ability to touch someones heart. The porcelain doll was the final gift of love from my Mum at Christmas. She loved porcelain dolls and had quite a few herself. She gave them out at her last christmas together before she passed away. While inexpensive It shall forever remain a pricesless reminder of her love. When I turned 21 our neighbour asked for gift ideas and Im not quite sure why but I really wanted a crystal dressing table set. For some reason it’s timeless beauty seemed a fitting gift from her. It’s timeless beauty is a constant reminder of this woman who lived to be over 106. I remember her
scones and her laugh and a wonderful accent
that accompanied her through immigration from Scotland and the following 80 years later. Nestled among the treasures are my beautiful perfumes.
Until I started travelling overseas I hadn’t really discovered the world of french perfumery. When I did, I found a new paradise in scent. Now that my husband travels abroard regularly I am well stocked in the latest offerings of the worlds perfumeries and that are easily at hand.

I have used a selection of goodies here from the Shoppe - most have been slightly recoloured to fit the tones in my LO!

This is so inspiring - fabulous that you documented your treasures, and the layout itself is so striking. Just great! Especially love the alpha.
