JOURNALING: Blue Tag - Riddle 2:
'97 is when they built it,
And said no flames would ever wilt it,
Teddy, Taft and Eleanor
Used it as a place to snore,
There Jamie went to visit Mame,
Egg's in a bar that bears his name.
ANSWER: Thurber Bar at Westin (Formerly Great Southern) Hotel. This hotel can boast many famous guests including Teddy Roosevelt, Howard Taft, and Eleanor Roosevelt. Humorist James Thurber's mother, Mame, maintained an apartment i the hotel for many years.
Green Tag - Riddle 3:
Close to a queen an egg waits your claim.
At an antebellum house with a colorful name,
Pioneer structure with grander addition,
Open for tours at modest admission,
Owner got rich making something for hair,
Look for a fan-lighted door and you're there.
ANSWER: orange Johnson House is in Worthington, close to a Dairy Queen. The original pioneer house was built in 1811 and sold to Orange Johnson a comb maker from Connecticut. Now restored, it is open for tours and includes a farm animal "petting zoo" for the kids.
Pink Tag - Riddle 5:
marriage crumbled, house still standing,
Choice Victorian spot commanding,
Roofline swoops in imitation
Of a canvas installation,
Show-biz baron's legacy
And where this morning's egg will be.
ANSWER: Sells Mansion (Circus House) at Goodale Park in Victorian Village. The dramatic rooflines, curved Moorish style windows, and terracotta-tile roof suggest a similar profile to that of a circus big top. Fitting, as the family owned the Sells Brothers Circus. In 1900 Peter and Mary endured a widely publicized divorce.
Purple tag - Riddle 7:
The egg is where a boy is led
To do what two wise birdies said:
Fool a big cat; grab a horn
To drain power from a unicorn,
Then once again the dog will bark;
(They're all assembled in a park.)
ANSWER: Pickaweekee Story Grove. Statues in the grove tell the magical adventure of an Indian boy, his dog, and friends Brother Owl and Sister Eagle.

This was a fun "return" to those Easter Egg hunts we enjoyed for so many years. LOVE how uncluttered each section of the layout looks; the dominant color changes for each section; the unity of design with each place having two photos that show the location; and, especially, the copy of the riddles you typed out so they can be read. Just the typing of them must have taken a long time. Super job. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
