I've enjoyed having a fireplace and mantle to decorate and gather around since our house in CO. I decorate the top of the mantle with a pine garland and lights as well as other holiday decor. Some years it has been a nativity set or my German Dept 56 houses, or sometimes like this year it is random things that make me smile from the miscellaneous decor boxes like the Rodney Reindeer my dad gave us, Mickey & Minnie and Peter Peppermint Elf and his dog Garland. Christmas morning we gather around the fireplace to open stockings and gifts.
