This is a picture of me and my mother celebrating my birthday....
Journaling reads:
I loved when it was our birthdays because it meant we got to Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor! As soon as you were done with your meal, the bells would ring really loud signaling it was “Birthday time,” You would see the whole staff running around all the tables in the place holding your ice cream sundae and singing really loud while evenyone would stop to see whose birthday it was. Of course, if you were really hungry they carried a barrel of ice cream with lots of candles on a gurney! I was a kid so I just got the ice cream sundae even though secretly I wished for the barrel! When you go to pay your bill, you had to go through their HUGE candy store and I loved when my mom would let us pick out a few pieces from all the varieties they had there! The place is no longer there.....but as a kid....it was one wonderful place to celebrate your birthday!
