Journalling reads: Time seems to have gone by so fast, when you died I couldn’t see a way that I could live a single day without you. Yet here we are 5 years later, it’s hard for me to believe that much time has passed. So many things have changed but the one thing that hasn’t is how much I miss you. Everytime I think about you my heart hurts, I won’t lie I have found it a lot easier to be distracted from the pain since your little brother was born. Not a day goes by, when I don’t wish you had gotten to hold him and had him smile at you like he smiles at Lukas. There’s no doubt in my mind that he would have adored each other. This year I just couldn’t bear to be in the house for your anniversary so I booked a hotel. I just needed to get away. I fully intemded to spend the day in the room maybe scrapping about you, and more than likely crying. But after sobbing silent tears alone in the bathroom where nobody could see them, something changed my mind. We decided to use our annual passes and take in some of the sights of London, The London Eye and The London Aquarium. We have done both before but something just told me to do that again. I firmly believe you had a hand in that decision because as we took our trip in the eye for the first time in a long time I felt at peace within myself. I think it was because I felt closer to you while we were so high in the sky. The Aquarium was beautiful as always they have made major changes since the last time we went. When we left the Aquarium it was raining hard but the Christmas lights were casting tiny rainbows on the ground. I stole a quick glance up and happened to see the brightest star in the sky right above. Before we went back to the hotel for the night we paid a quick trip to a souvenir shop. I found the most perfect glass christmas ornament. It was a simple round snowglobe with a blue satin ribbon and it was engraved Merry Christmas Leo. I got one each for Logan (Baby’s First Christmas) and Lukas (Special Son) since they didn’t have their names, but yours touched me the deepest. I just couldn’t wait to get home and hang it on the tree. We decided that we are going to make this a new tradition for your anniversary. It’s such a simple thing but it turned out to be exactly what I needed this year. Happy anniversary baby, I hope you know how much I love and miss you.
