After an EXTREMELY difficult year in Colorado several years ago, we learned that we could get through anything and our relationship is stronger for it.


We have leanred over the years that we can take whatever is thrown at us, and boy have we had some things thown at us. Although we had had our bumps and buises, nothing was as bad for us as our year in Colorado. We were in such financial shambles, that there was more than once that we wondered just what we were going to do. It wasn’t uncommon for us to round up as much spare change as we could, just to buy bread, or milk, or something for dinner. The whole year wasn’t bad, but just when we thought we were getting back on our feet, something else would come our way to knock us down. We may have thought of giving up to ourselves, but we never said it, we weren’t going to give up. It couldn’t get much worse could it? Well, at times it did. There was a lot of frustration, a lot of tears and a lot of hard times, very hard times. But, we never gave up. We kept going, we had to. We had two young boys to take care of and be there for. After nearly a year to the day, we were given news that changed everything. Yes, we had to leave Colorado, but we knew we’d not have to suffer any more. We didn’t always suffer though, despite the hardships, we still had fun. We still did things together, we still went places when we could. We laughed, we joked, we learned. Now, several years later, everything else seems so small and minor. We have learned that no matter what, we can survive and get through anything that is thrown our way.
