his year we took a trip up to DC to attend the USA Science and Engineering Festival. The festival is only held every other year and is aimed at middled and high school students. We weren't sure what to expect but it was amazing - every booth had hands on activities for Makayla. We spent nearly 8 hours there and still only managed to see about half of it. Some of the fun activities were testing pH , an ait-traffic controller simulator, eating (and breathing) liquid nitrogen frozen teddy grahams, powering a lightbulb with "Makyala-power", a helicopter similator, extracting DNA, and taking a little trip via virtual reality. We also saw an exoskeleton demonstraion, coded with Raspberry Pi and so much more. It really opened her eyes to what was out here.
