For the SSD Sweet Shoppe Summer Getaway 2019 #2 - Go Big or Go Home. I'm going to try and use the Summer Getaway challenges to help me get the album I've planned about our move from CO to VA done. I did the cover for the album back in February for one of the birthday challenges, so will see how many of these challenges I can make work for pages I need to do in this album.
Journaling:
It was not a moment I had wished would come. We were supposed to be able to stay in Colorado Springs until Mark retired. But now we were ready to drive down the street for the very last time as residents of 3530 Richmond Drive. All of the boxes were packed and on the moving van already on their way to the new house in Virginia. The trailer was hitched to the back of the van and the cars loaded. Seventeen years of our lives are in the walls of this little house. Tears of joy and sadness, birthday parties and holidays both with family and just us. We moved in as a family of 5 and were now leaving as a family of 7. This is the only home the kids remember. Now it was time for a new start, even if we didn't really want one. We built our own extended family here, and I will always remember this place as home.

I want to cry for you...after leaving CO and getting here to KY, I feel this layout so much!!! You lived in the nicer area of town--we were over by the airport. I love this layout and the memories, feelings, emotions that this layout captures. Will you move back when your husband retires?

I don't know that we will go back - possible, but not terribly likely as it will depend on where the older girls end up settling I'm sure. Yes, this was a nicer part of town when we moved in. Things started to change those last few years as so many of the newer housing developments went up to the north and east. I think most of the neighbors we knew have moved to different parts of town now.
