Default Frosting?

So totally random (lol) but what's your favorite frosting? Esp. with chocolate cake?

Erin

I'm not a fan of frosting in general. I'd say melted chocolate that will somewhat harden on top?
Or cream cheese with chocolate. Or coffee frosting! Coffee and chocolate is always a good combo!

I'm not a huge chocolate cake fan, but I'd go chocolate on chocolate (the darker the better). On anything else, cream cheese frosting is the best!!

We don't eat cakes, pretty much any desserts in the house. But if I were making a chocolate cake for my father, I'd use chocolate frosting because that's how he likes it.

I did make William's birthday cake, chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, but that was only so I could use food coloring to decorate his cake! After he blew the candles out, sadly the cake went into the microwave where it sat until trash day later that week!

a Chocolate Fudge Frosting. One thing I do not like to do is mix frosting.... ie: vanilla frosting on a chocolate cake, or chocolate frosting on a vanilla cake. lol

Depends on the type of chocolate cake... if german chocolate - the coconut pecan frosting is drool worthy! If a devil's chocolate... a chocolate cream cheese frosting is a must!

Dang - I think I just gained 5 lbs thinking about this... haha!

mint with chocolate is DIVINE! You can't buy mint frosting I don't think though. I always have to make it or add mint flavor to store bought frosting.

Any frosting that isn't whipped cream. I love frosting...I'm the one who wants the flowers from the cake :P But if it's whipped cream, I'll pass.

So, I finally opted to try a cookie butter (Biscoff) buttercream with my chocolate cake that I made for my birthday.
