Without spoilers lol..is it really really good b/c we're getting a date night for our anniversary tomorrow and I'm hoping it's super good since we only get to see like one movie a year in the theater lol. Plus we had hoped to have a weekend away which fell through so tomorrow night needs to be a+++

We just saw it in 3D last night and yes- great movie. The effects alone make it worthwhile. Have a great date night!

Me and DH tried to see it today, but they haven't tickets anymore until next week. So, I guess it will be our 1st movie night of 2010.
This kind of movie is not my cup of tea, to be honest, but DH is VERY excited about it. I will enjoy the experience to see him watching this one LOL

Haven't seen it yet, but we're having our own date night Friday and plan to see it them. I've heard good reviews.

I don't think we'll be seeing it in the theatre, but we'll definitely rent it when it comes out on video.

My BIL saw it and got sick from the 3D effects. I saw on Pioneer Woman's website that she had the same problem. So we want to see it but will be sure to see it without the 3D effects since my huby gets motion sick.

I am going to be the lone descent - It was AMAZING visually - the story not so much .... Like they spent all the money on the effects...... I saw it in 3D - but I think it would have been fine without the glasses. To be fair I was also sick as a dog, so that could have tainted it for me .... We are going New Years to see Sherlock Homes.

My husband saw it and thought it was awesome. He watched it not in 3D.

I didn't care to see it.

But, if you want a funny movie to see It's Complicated was awesome. I saw it today and laughed so freakin' hard.

Spinoff: Of those of you who've seen it, did you think it was appropriate for a 7yo to see??

My SS's mom took him this past week, and we just can't figure out why. I admit I don't know the plot, but from what I've gathered from interviews, etc. it is an adult movie with adult themes and violence. I can't believe my ADHD immature for his age SS would sit through over 2 hours of a movie like this unless there were a lot of action sequences to keep him occupied.

Thoughts??

We took my 6yo - He liked it - he brought in the action figures he got from McDonalds and played with them. I can't remember any parts that were really bad for a 7year old.

He was pissed at the end of the movie and we couldn't understand why - he told us he only went because he wanted to see Ang - He thought it was Avatar the last air-bender - the one coming out this summer.

I just can't get excited about this movie for some reason. SO really wants to see it, so I guess we will eventually, but knowing us it will be when it's out on DVD - we never get around to go to "grown up" cinema..

So - what's so good about it? Make me want to see it!

I didn't like it. Rainforest stuff really squicks me (I am grossed out at the sight of anything with spores) and the story was too predictable. Good thing the screening I went to was sponsored by my office. I would have really hated spending $10 on it otherwise.

Default Loved It!

My husband and I went to see the movie in 3d, before we went into the movie, I had no idea what it was about. He just said he really wanted to see it. As we were walking in I told my mil that we would be home in a couple of hours the movie started at 6:20, when we walked out I thought it was maybe 8:00, it was 9:20! Both of us couldn't believe that the movie had been that long and that we hadn't noticed it! We liked it so much that New Years Day we took the whole family us, the kids 7, 9, and 11 the sil and boyfriend and mil and fil. They all loved it. I'm not into this type of movie at all, but they did a great job with this one.

My dad and I went tonight and saw it in 3D. I wasn't sure I would like the 3D but after awhile I didn't even really notice it anymore. There were parts where it really felt like things were falling on you (like the leaves from the trees) and I thought that was really neat. I'm kind of curious to see it not in 3D to see how much of a difference the 3D makes. I also loved the not-so-subtle political messages thrown in to the storyline.

Oh and I think I need to watch more movies with Sam Worthington from now on.

I am glad to hear this review, because my DS wants to go, he's 9. I know it's long and I want to make sure he has patience to sit through it. He loves stuff like this, and I was wondering if it would be any good for him. Thanks for posting your experience!
