I have a job interview today. I've been unemployed since I graduated in December, so I'm really nervous. This economy sucks.

Thanks, Ladies.

I think I might have nailed it... I will find out on Friday or Monday... One problem= the pay is $10.53 hour for a max of 20 hours a week... which equals a little over $800 a month... Won't exactly be making anything, but it will look good on my resume and comes with insurance, retirement, etc.

Once again, this economy sucks.

It will definately look good on your resume, and at least it's SOMETHING!! Another thing, it's easier to get a job when you've got a job. You never know what's around the corner . . .

You girls are so right! Plus, the health insurance is worth about $400 a month... And we want to have babies and I could balance this job and that at the same time. I'm crossing my fingers.

We have an 80% chance of rain tonight. We've only gotten about three inches this year and desperately need the rain. I'm crossing my fingers for that, too.

In the spirit of getting to know everyone better, let's post something about ourselves!

Most people know this one already about me, but I'll start out easy. I'm a librarian! And LOVE it!

I have three boys and I'm the girliest girl evah! I love my three boys. Other then missing flowers and pink (my fav color) from my scrapbook pages, we have a blast! Being "boy-trapped" 24/7 is a good thing!

LOL Andrea...I think scrapping boys is so much harder! When I have a S4H that's a boy, I get so nervous!

Something new about me:

I just learned how to crochet. I know 3 stitches and have made a (very bad) potholder, another (much, much better) potholder, and a little scarf for my 3 y/o daughter. Next crochet club get-together I go to, I'm going to learn how to edge stuff so maybe I can do a little bit more ambitious project.

I am married to a corn and wheat farmer. We live in the middle of nowhere (seriously). It is 63 miles to the nearest Walmart and 130 to the nearest mall and airport. We drive over an hour one way to go to the movies.

But we have some amazing sunsets. And I have a big yard and lots of privacy.

Hey Kate, since you're a librarian, I have a book question for you... (I love to read and I'm in two book groups and moonlight in SSD book groups as well) Have you read Terry Pratchett? I want to get started on some of his books and there are so many it's hard to know where to begin! I've heard that if I like Jasper Fforde that I will love Terry Pratchett... any thoughts there?

Maria, that actually sounds really cool to me! My question is, do you make your own wheat bread? And what kind of wheat do you guys grow? I've been grinding my own wheat and making my homemade wheat bread for 5-6 years and love it!

Andrea, I don't read Terry Prachett, but he's been on my toead list for a long time. I'm kinda intimidated because there's just so many books! I hear he's funny and that they're great fantasy books. I do know that the Discworld series starts with The Color of Magic. It's easy enough to find a series order online. But the Discworld series is the one I hear about most often.

Marla, I grew up very similarly! I grew up on a 2,000 acre farm and while it wasn't so long to a Wal-Mart, it was a good 40 miles. We still have the farm in our family, but no one really runs it anymore. You can see a bit of it here.

Funny story... I'm actually allergic to wheat. It's pretty much the worst thing ever.

Most of our corn is fed to cows, but I think some of the wheat might be shipped off to a bread company... I'm not exactly sure. All I know is, we load it up in trucks and it is taken to the local grain bins.

OMGosh, that is crazy! Too funny! I bet that would be the worst thing to be living in the middle of! Too bad, wheat bread is so good, I'm sad you can't have it!

Terry Pratchett is my favorite author of all time. I LOVE his sense of humor and the amazing worlds and characters he has created. I listen to a lot of audio books and the narrators of his books are fantastic also.

I love geeky TV shows like Dr. Who and the Big Bang Theory! I also like historical drama, especially about Britain. I like Downton Abbey, Upstairs Downstairs, the Tudors, Pride and Prejudice.

I love the Doctor! Random Doctor Quotes:

Beware the weeping angels. Oh and duck. No really duck! Sally Sparrow. DUCK, NOW! Love from The Doctor (1969)

"Your life could depend on this. Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink! Good luck."

Larry: “The angels have the phonebox”. That's my favorite. I've got that on a t-shirt.

The Doctor: Listen, gotta dash. Things. Happening. Well, four things. Well, four things and a lizard.

I have five younger brothers and sisters... My baby baby sister is almost twelve years younger than me. She just turned nine and is totally my best friend. Anyway, my parents and her just moved and now live two hours away. Today, they are coming to visit me for the first time in two weeks. I am oh so excited for some Jamey time.

On a related and random note, when Jamey was two she refused to call me Marla to my face. She knew my name and could say it when I wasn't around, but just wanted to be a pain. She was obsessed with Finding Nemo at the time and started calling me Dory. Now everyone is my entire family calls me Dory... including my nephew. I'm known as either Auntie Dory or Dory to the whole family. Nicknames are funny and weird.

Aww, that's cute, Marla (Dory).

I have a brother that's 12 years younger than me. I was the baby for all those years until that brat came along LOL. Now he's a 18 year-old, 6'6" man. How did that happen?
