Default Xyron Cheetah owners, come in...

I went to AC Moore today to get a refill for my 2" Cheetah, and the refills were $8.99 (4" refills were $12.99)!! The last time I bought one there (a month or two ago), the 2" was $6.99.

How is that even possible? I know the price of everything is going up... but $9.00?!

I don't consider myself to be a cheapo, but I'm not sure if I can justify spending $9 on refills for that thing! It works great for my hybrid projects, and I love it, but I've gone through 2 cartridges in my last 4 projects (well, 4.5 since I got almost half way through a 5th project with it). At $9 each, that's a little less than $4.50 per project!

While at Sam's today, I bought a pack of Scotch acid-free, permanent glue sticks. I think I'm gonna give them a try and see how it works out since at Sam's they're $6.50 for 18 sticks.

I don't have AC Moore here, but at Michaels they're about the same price if I recall correctly - that's why I use my 40% off coupon for them.

Gotta love my Xyron and I don't care how much it costs to refill. I used to have the 12 inch Xyron and the refills were unbelievable.

Yea, I'm another that doesn't care what the refills cost. I use my 40% or 50% coupon on it usually. I use it for the majority of the gluing, then I use my tombow tape runner to seal the edges nicely. Works for me! Lol!

I have a xyron 900, a 510 an "X" and a 4" Cheetah - LOL....Love Xyron!!! I've gotten really lucky TWICE with my xyrons - a few years ago I came across a clearance of 510 cartridges at Walmart for ONE DOLLAR (those are usually atleast $15.00 each!!!) so I bought them all - there were about 15 of them - since that is an odd size that I don't use all that often, I still have some cartridges left from that buy. THEN a few months ago (and this is the reason I bought a Cheetah), I found a bunch of 4" Cheetah cartridges on clearance for $1 at Target so I bought all of them (probably about 6 or 7 that time) and then got the Cheetah with a 50% off coupon at JoAnns.

I just always work those Michaels, AC Moore and JoAnn's coupons when I need refills for my Xyron 900!!! And often the craft stores will put the cartridges on sale for 40% off so that is a good time to stock up!

Well, I tried the glue last night, and I'm not sure it's going to work like I'd hoped. Guess I need to find some 40 and 50% coupons!

My problem is that the 2" refills are never in stock around here! Seriously, I travel to at least 4 different places at least once a month and they are always out. It's so frustrating!

I know!! That's the other problem... Michaels and Joann's never have them, which means I have to go to AC Moore, where they only have them SOMETIMES. I need to find a good place online to order...

I'm the biggest adhesive cheapskate ever! Never buy any kind without 40% coupon! LOL
