So I just got this error when I tried to open a TIFF in CS5.

I've googled it and it's due to a saving error..... in particular this:

The computer did NOT finish saving the file and did NOT write the all-important headers and footers code to the file

The weird thing is I have never opened this file in CS5....only in PSE6. It was a PSD and I converted it to a TIFF. The weird thing is it opens just fine in PSE6!?!?! I tried resaving it but it still won't open in CS5. Anyone encounter a problem like this!?!?!

I'm wondering if I can just open it in PSE6, and drag it into a new document and re save a whole new file (I just renamed the old one). By the way it's the whole folder...just not that one file!!!

Try opening it as a new document, instead of placing it. That's what I have to do with TIFFs to have access to all of their layers anyway.

Nope it wouldn't open in any way (open, open as, open as smart object) But I just opened it in PSE6 and saved it in a new document and it opened fine in CS5. So weird!! But at least I'm glad I still had PSE installed to fix it!!! :D :D

ooo...I have had this error before, I long time ago!! It was probably with PS CS...and with a jpg. Ugh! I can't remember what I needed to do to fix it!

can you open it in PSE and re-save it as a psd? or a png?
