I went on a month break and a lot of beautiful things happened!

question: why do we have several galleries named the same in our own gallery? I have 5 galleries. Do they represent something in particular?

@Leablahblah can I have your permission to try adding all of the images from the ones that only have a couple of images into the one that has more? I really dont understand those member galleries. They're just like artifacts of the way Photopost handled "member galleries" automatically making one for you when you uploaded and the difference in how XenForo handles images by user / category instead.

you're absolutely welcome to merge it all into one if you can! Yes please!
 
Also, to give you an example... your biggest "album" there only has 700 images in it, but you've posted 7000... sooooo? They're kinda whack. I think they might be pages that didnt get uploaded to any other category over there. Super weird.
 
Yeah, I would NOT use those albums. Anything you put into a category here gets counted and added to your personal media file based on your username, so I would not add to those.

In fact, I have "album" creation disabled in general because we want you to use a category instead. If you're just showing off your beautiful things, just plonk it in Inspiration from... Our Community category which will be a beautiful resource of all of our community's amazing layouts moving forward.
 
@Robin Carlton is there a way to get comment notifications to our own layouts? I see the Gallery>New comments section but it's all the comments. Not just our own. Which would be so nice to be able to filter through. Is this an option you can add?
 
I did it! I deleted my new signature from the Forum Signature album and added it to the designer album and now it works. No idea what the problem was, but this fixed it. Thanks all for your help!

You should be able to opt in or out to watching the content you create using the preferences menu in your profile menu up top. Should look something like this...

I came to ask something similar to Lea. I want to watch and be notified (emailed) about forum threads I interact with and content I create (thread and layouts), but not layouts I interact with. If I comment on a layout, then I'm emailed every time someone else comments. That's a bit much for me. I'm not sure how to opt out of layout interaction without losing thread interaction.

On the same screen I just mentioned to Lea, there are all sorts of boxes you can check and uncheck to hopefully get the content notifications you want.

Keep in mind, I am not a software developer, so we do have to work within the limits of what this piece of software can do. I'm pretty sure you guys can customize the notifications you get, but I am not an expert, so we may have to play around a bit.

Also, feel free to search your question + xenforo on google to see if you can get an answer that way. That's all I do when I try to answer something for you guys because I'm learning too.

@Becca Bonneville I know you've worked more extensively with XenForo in the past - do you know more about getting the notifications these girls want?
 
Am I the only one not liking the word "media" for our layouts? Is there an option to change that word to image or layout? LOL I know you said you're not a developer and I have no idea what it looks like on the other side to change things like that but maybe it's an easy one.
 
I am super slow when it comes to changes so it will take a while for me to navigate all these new bits and bobs, but so far it looks awesome (y):love:

They already should. Is there one that isn't their design name? LMK and I can look into it.

Also, I fixed this, but there are a lot of definitions that have the word media, so if you notice one somewhere lmk and I can try to hunt it down. I think I got most of the big ones.

I just double-checked the list of tags and they're all already their design name. Was there one that didnt make sense to you? LMK so I can try to help.

I figured out my problem… I was using the “add note/tag” button instead of the little tag icon. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Sorry about that! The “button” attracted my attention

Whew! I'm so glad that's what it was. That button is funny actually. It notifies the designers when you tag them and asks for their approval to be tagged. Definitely not the tags we want to use haha :D They're like FB nudges. So many things to learn!

For those of you who keep getting notifications after you have commented on a LO in the gallery & then someone else comments on the same LO...you have to "UNWATCH" that LO. Right above the credits on the right side under the LO, there is an UNWATCH button. So after you comment on a LO, refresh the page, and then click "UNWATCH."

Same goes for if you WANT comments from your LOs, you have to "WATCH" the LO after you upload it, refresh the page and click "WATCH."

Yeah I think I got mine to work in my preferences. I don’t have to hit watch on my newly uploaded layouts because I automatically checked the box to watch items I created.

It's basically what you showed. They can limit what notifications they get by type (gallery/post/comments) and whether it is forum notification or email notification in this area.

When you select to "Watch" something that sets things so you get a notification on whatever you are watching. And it will follow the preferences that are set on this screen you shared.
 
@Robin Carlton The old gallery showed the layout's view count on the main gallery page without having to click into the layout to see it. I may be the only one that wants it, but could that view count be added to the layout info summary currently shown on the main page of the new gallery? Hopefully that makes sense!
 
I'm currently encountering an oddity. All of the formatting options are grayed out when I try to reply to threads.
