I live in the Netherlands...we had remembrance day yesterday and today we celebrate liberation dayWhere do you live? Our Remembrance Day is in November
Here in Europe there is Armistice Day on 11/11, marking the end of WW1 in 1918. Since the Netherlands were neutral during this first World War, we don't 'celebrate' this day. On May 5, 1945 we were liberated after WW2. So that's wy we celebrate our freedom today! I just found this Wikipedia article with all sorts of Remembrance Days across the globe and the why and whens.Where do you live? Our Remembrance Day is in November
It sure is.@Romajo thats cool! I wasn’t sure which country you were in lol
It’s full on winter here by November (Canada) - the poppies we wear are synthetic, not real flowers. We are just starting spring here too.It sure is.
Reading that article I wondered how in the world you could wear poppies in November, since they are blooming right now overhere... until I remembered that it's about to get summer in November on the southern hemisphere, so the poppies should be blooming by then...
