Journalling reads: I’m a stay at home Mum, and I feel like the luckiest person in the world to be able to say that. Some mothers can’t handle being at home for 24hrs a day. They would rather work full or part time for whatever reason, be it adult interaction, mental stimulation....anything really. And you know, although I respect their choice, I totally cannot relate to it. I cannot imagine MYSELF, not being home with my kids like I am right now. I worked my butt off for 15 years in the workforce, but when the time came for me to be a Mum, the only place I wanted to be was at home with my babies. The choice to become a parent was not made lightly. We decided together that our children would be our top priority, and we would take responsibility for their upbringing. I wanted to be the one to watch them grow and teach them things. I wanted it to be ME they came to when they were hurt or had something to share. I didn’t want to miss any part of their early years. So I chose to be a stay at home Mum just like my Mum was for me. It may be hard for some to believe, but I honestly do feel completely fulfilled in this role. I am happy with the adult interaction I get from the gym, playcentre, church, and with friends and family. I get immense personal satisfaction from my scrapbooking. And given the chance to do things over again, I would not change a thing. How does one ever really convey the depth of love they have for their children? My girls are my world. Watching them grow and witnessing their achievements each day makes me so proud. I look at them and feel incredibly grateful that I am their mother. Grateful too, that I have a loving, supportive husband who works so I can stay home with our children. I absolutely cannot imagine being anywhere else than right here . . . right now . . . with the ones I love . . . doing exactly what I’m doing. 16-08-08"
