Created for the upcoming 2010 Sweet Shoppe Scrapper Portfolio Challenge and inspired by Baby Love Letters #60.
Journaling reads:
1. I have learned to embrace that others can do things differently than what I may do and that is ok.
2. I have learned that sometimes you need to just laugh when things seem a bit stressful - a good knock-knock joke can make it all seem good again!
3. I have learned that sometimes a meal has to wait so we can finish hearing how your day went - it is important to make sure the person telling the story knows you care enough to listen.
4. I have learned to like some kinds of music that I thought I would never like while I have enjoyed sharing the kind of music I like with you both.
5. I have learned that how important it is to respect the things and people you believe in even when I am not entirely excited about your choices. Repecting them allows us to continue to talk about these things rather than have you hide things behind my back.
6. I have learned that you are both different - not in bad ways but just different. I am challenged each day to be the kind of mom you both need and to understand that what may have worked with one of you - may not work with the other.
7. I have learned to be quiet and let you grow - not that this is easy since clearly I want to protect you from all things in life. But that won’t give you the chance to experience life - both the up and the down sides of it.
8. I have learned to love your dad more and more because of the relationship he has with you both - I hope you are blessed to meet a man that can be as great as father as he was to you girls.
9. I have learned to love things in life I might not have tried before because it is a part of you such as going camping, to the beach or an amusement park or concert for some band you love.
10. I have learned that it is a gift to be your mother and that I am the person I am today because of this gift that God has given me. Truly I cannot think of any other thing in life that I would wish for more. Thank you for the lessons you have taught me and will teach me in the future....
