Default my first fondant covered cake :)
Ava's birthday is tomorrow, and we are having a Mario themed party This is my first fondant covered cake, and I am so proud of it!

The mushroom on top, and the Mario figure are plastic, but the rest of the cake is fondant.

Wow! That's a ton of work. Great job!

I use to think cakes were overpriced at the bakery or grocery store until I tried to decorate one for the first time!

Thanks guys! I have used fondant before, but this was the first time I had tried to cover a cake. It is hard because you get little folds around the edges, and then trying to make the all the little bumps and air pockets disappear.

The little detail work isn' that hard. It is basically like playing with playdoh!
