Identifying kits used in layouts

This has probably been addressed before, but I'd like to hear how you name your files, and do you incorporate the kit you used somewhere in the file? I have a layout I started last summer, and I made the mistake of not identifying what kit I used. I needed to add embellishments from the kit and cannot find it in my stash of supplies. Thanks for any suggestions you can make.
