Default Identifying kits used in layouts

This has probably been addressed before, but I'd like to hear how you name your files, and do you incorporate the kit you used somewhere in the file? I have a layout I started last summer, and I made the mistake of not identifying what kit I used. I needed to add embellishments from the kit and cannot find it in my stash of supplies. Thanks for any suggestions you can make.

I either keep a notebook or start a note on my computer to keep track of my credits... I also usually finish a page once I've started it so that I don't forget... hope you're able to find it... can you post a picture here? maybe we can help you figure out what kit it is...

This is how I name my layout. I'm working with a kit from Jenn called "Don't Feed The Dinosaurs" so I'll name my page: eam2012 feed dinos.

But most importantly I copy all my journaling and all my credits into the file info of my page (within photoshop) so when I right click on my TIFF file (or high resolution Jpeg) under the "details" tab I have all the info I would ever need, like this:

Quote:

Today at school you were learning about
dinosaurs Gxxxxx and Ms. Lxxxxx encouraged
all of you to bring a dinosaur to share with the
class! So daddy headed to Wal Mart to get you
some to take to school! You were so excited and
you loved sharing your new dinosaur with all
your school friends! I think you have a new
found love for dinosaurs!!!

File>File Info is where I have put stuff before....not sure if this is where she is doing it though.

99% of the time I scrap a page in one setting and just look at the files I've used and write out the list of credits based on the files that are open/used in PS. I typically can recognize what kit I got elements from - I don't mix and match too much..

I'm pretty sure Kim is right (I uninstalled my CS5 ), but I' remember asking that question right when I tried scrapping with it and what Kim says sounds familiar!! I know in PSE all I have to do is right click on my page and I can add it there!!!

I keep a notepad document open on my computer and add the credits to it when I scrap. When the LO is finished I store my credits with the web-sized file since I'd probably only need them if I were re-posting it online.

You are all so organized! I remember most kits by sight and can typically find what I need since I can recognize the designer if not the name of the kit. I don't keep lists of credits though. I scrap, I save, I close it out and I'm done. I don't submit to magazines or anything like that (I did in my paper scrapping days, not sure why I never have as a digital scrapper) and I rarely go back to a layout.

I've started adding it to my File info as well, but I do it on the web version since those are the ones that get uploaded to galleries.

I will have to try and remember this! My old fashioned pen and paper is getting out of control!
